What
is Career Coaching?
Career coaching provides a guide toward career fulfillment.
Career coaching uses a process that helps people discover
their true passion. Career Coaching will assess your
talents, identify your needs, and provide the necessary
motivation for you to accomplish your goals.
Consider career coaching if:
- your job situation or responsibilities have changed;
- you are feeling unfulfilled or dissatisfied in your
work and in your life;
- you are unhappy or bored with the career you have
chosen;
- interpersonal issues at work are getting in your
way and affecting your performance;
- stress is affecting you emotionally, mentally or
physically;
- you feel daily pressures are too burdensome.
How does Career coaching work?
A career coach challenges you to more clearly define
what satisfaction in life means to you. This can be
achieved by helping you to create a career assessment
inventory and build a career development strategy. You
are encouraged to develop a strategy for action with
the coach and gain the self-confidence to proactively
proceed with your action strategy. In a coaching relationship
we will assist you in career planning and development
that will:
- set both short and long range goals;
- determine action plans and monitor progress in attaining
goals;
- keep you focused and on track;
- maintain a healthy balance between your personal
and professional life.
Through career coaching you can achieve:
- More confident career decisions
- Strength and courage to take charge of your career
- Strength to face and deal with uncertain economic
times.
- An improved current job situation or the confidence
to make a job transition
- Motivation to advance a career to the next level
- Motivation to proactively design or redesign your
professional life
- Insight to better understand your potential in order
to seek the right career
- Increased potential for career growth and future
earning power.
- Better balance between family and work
- Accountability
How Can A Career Coach Help Me?
A career coach can help assess your talents, identify
your needs, and provide the necessary motivation for
you to accomplish your goals. Together you will work
to maximize your potential and reduce the stress of
the unknown and what ifs. A career-coaching program
is designed to increase your level of professional and
personal fulfillment, satisfaction and overall enjoyment
of your chosen career. Many clients achieve a renewed
sense of perspective and make significant positive changes
in their lives.
Why hire a coach?
A coach is your partner in going after the life you
know you want and can accomplish, personally and professionally.
A coach helps you hold yourself accountable for your
life, to make sure you honestly strive to achieve your
full potential.
Through discussion, specific exercises, and career
testing we will identify your skills, unique talents,
interests, personal style, needs and values. Through
the information we collect during the process we will
create a career plan that will help you achieve excellence
in your work and your life.
When you decide upon a career, we'll work with you
to outline a plan of action to help you realize your
dreams.
A coach helps the client by:
- Asking questions to make you think
- Making you accountable
- Allowing you to focus on what “you”
really want
- Helping set achievable goals
- Providing clarity and ability to focus on goals,
aspirations and ambitions
- Challenging you to think "outside the box"
in order to create real answers
- Making you look honestly and objectively at how
you are responsible for many circumstances in your
life
- Identifying obstructions/blocks to success
- Helping to focus on a meaningful career or educational
plan
- Helping to determine innovative ways to build a
business or career
Who should hire a career coach?

college students and even mature adults entering or
reentering the workforce need career and job guidance.
